Basic Gospel Message Details

By Vic Scaravilli

1. God loves each one of us. The salvation story is the proof of God’s love for each one of us where He did not abandon mankind when they turned against Him starting from Adam and Eve. God gave mankind another chance to be reconciled back to Him out of love.

Gen. 3:15 I will put enmity between you and woman (First promise of salvation)

Is. 43:1-5 You are mine and I love you.

Rom. 5:8 God proves His love that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

2. Sin is what prevents us from experiencing God’s full love. Originally mankind lived in perfect fellowship with God. But, when he sinned, he fell away from God’s grace. What does being in original sin mean? It is not being able to fully experience God’s grace.

Rom. 3:23 All have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God

Rom. 6:23 For the wages of sin is death

Col. 1:21 We were alienated because of sin

3. Jesus died for our sins. This was God’s plan on how to restore man’s complete fellowship back to Him.

Is. 53:4-5 It was our infirmities that He bore . . . by His stripes we were healed.

Mat. 27:45-56; Mk. 15:33-41; Lk. 23:44-49; Jn. 19:28-30 The death of Jesus

4. Jesus offers eternal salvation. It is only through Jesus we are saved. We cannot do anything to earn it, we cannot work our way into heaven by our own efforts, we cannot do anything on our own to buy our salvation.

Eph. 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, it is a gift of God.

Acts 4:12 There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under

heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved.

Rom. 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in

Christ.

5. Conversion. This is saying “Yes” to Jesus. We must accept the free gift of salvation.

Jn. 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so who ever believes

in him might not perish but might have eternal life.

Acts 2:21 Everyone shall be saved who calls upon the name of the Lord.

Rom. 10:9 If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised

Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Mat. 10:22 Who endures to the end will be saved.

6. You must be Born Again. This is how we become children of God. It is the way the Bible tells us we become members of God’s family. Conversion is a necessary part of Baptism.

Jn. 3:5 No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and spirit.

Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized . . .for the forgiveness of your sins and you will

receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Titus 3:5 He saves us through the bath of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

1Peter 3:21 Baptism that saves you now.
